"The human connection in the moment of creating music is what inspires me the most," Daniel Aztatzi.

 

 

Having started his musical academia in his beloved Mexico, his ambition and curiosity to acquire technical and theoretical proficiency in the double bass took him on a journey across the ocean to continue his studies and discover the musical culture of Europe. Meeting Franco Petracchi and Mirella Vedeva, two masters of the Italian school of contra bass in the summer of 2015, during a masters course in Sermoneta, Italy, would encourage him to move to Switzerland to pursue a bachelors and later a masters degree with an emphasis in Orchestra at the University of Music of Geneva. He has thus far demonstrated his profound passion for developing his technique and his artistically expressive ability to emulate his personal universe in his musical performances. Daniel Aztatzi is yet again on a journey to expand his knowledge, technique and artistic expression by seeking a second masters in the theory of the double bass under the direction of Maestro David Desimpelaere at K.A.S.K in Ghent, Belgium.
